Russian Finn Association and Moscow Sailing School are pleased to invite you to the International regatta “Open Russian 2022” – Open Championship of Russian Finn Association, Russian National Finn Championship and Russian National Junior Finn Championship, which will be held on Klyazma and Pirogovo Lakes in Moscow from August, 24 till August, 28 

Equipment & format of competition

The competition will be held in class Finn in absolute rate and in the following categories:

  • ·Juniors – sailors U24
  • ·Masters – sailors over 39 but under 50 years
  • ·Grand-Masters - sailors over 49 but under 60 years
  • ·Grand-Grand-Masters - sailors over 59 but under 70 years
  • ·Legend - sailors over 69
  • ·Ladies

Format of competition – 12 fleet races.

Place:

The Championship will take place in Moscow Sailing School (www.sailingschool.ru) which hosted the 49-er World Championship, the Finn World Championship (Gold Cup) in 2005,  Junior Finn World Championships (Silver Cup) 2007 and 2011, International University Sailing Cup 2013-2021 and Open Russian regatta 2008-2021.

  • August, 24       –  Registration, Charter boats distribution
  • August, 25       –    Fleet Races
  • August, 26       –   Fleet Races
  • August, 27       –   Fleet Races
  • August, 28       –   Fleet Races, Closing Ceremony  

Conditions of Entry:

Open Russian is open event. Eligible competitors shall register at the regatta web-site   before June, 15, 2022. The Entry Fee is 80 Euro for senior sailors and 10 Euro for Juniors.  

Charter boats can be provided for participants

One fully equipped Finn boat (Devoti 2004, build for Gold Cup 2005) and one mast (Hit Mast, bend numbers are available)  can be provided by Moscow Sailing School to each participant for charter on demand for charge of 150 Euro for the event under damage deposit of 400 Euro. You are invited to bring your sails and personal equipment only.

The charter boats for Juniors will be provided free of charge under damage deposit only.

The charter boats can be provided for practice before the event for charge of 50 Euro per day under damage deposit of 400 Euro.   

Accommodation:

Sailors and accompany persons can stay at Moscow Sailing School hotel just near the place where charter boats will stay. Approximate price is 20 Euro per night for one person (3 times per day ьeal is included into the price of the accommodation).
The reservation of the rooms and charter boats should be done by July, 15

Temperature and wind conditions:

We are expecting moderate winds of 6-10 knots, which sometimes can increase up to 12-16 knots. The day temperature is around 20-25 degrees C.

The regatta will follow the International University Sailing Cup (August, 19-23) It is going to be Festival of Finn sailors with meeting of many friends and Finn heroes from different countries.

    29 March 2015 Russian Finn Association invites sailors to participate in 3 international events in Moscow

    Moscow will hold 3 international events with Finn class during 2015 year:  
    Moscow International Traditional Regatta (Finn, Snipe, Laser, Optimist) - June, 19-25, 2015,
    International University Sailing Cup 2015 (Finn, Snipe), August 18 – 24, 2015 (http://www.iusc.ru)
    and the most exciting for Finn sailors annual event - Open Russian (Open Russian Finn Association Championship) 2015 (Finn class only) August, 25 – 30, 2015 (http://www.open-russian.ru).
    All the regattas will take place in Moscow Sailing School which hosted the 49-er World Championship, the Finn World Championship (Gold Cup) in 2005, Junior Finn World Championships (Silver Cup) 2007 and 2011 and International University Sailing Cup 2013. The competitions will take place at the Klyazminskoye lake with quite interesting lake conditions with many shifts and enough of room for the interesting tactic games. Very good and convenient conditions for accommodation, charter boats and easy logistics will make the trip easy with small budget and comfortable.

    13 September 2013 Open Russian: amazing racing with 73 boats fleet. Michele Paoletti takes the Gold of Open Russian. The 5th international regatta Open Russian – Open Championship of Russian Finn Association took place in Moscow from September, 3rd till September 8th. As usually this regatta has collected big number of sailors (more than 70) from 5 nations (Italia, Ukraine, Russia, Litvaniya and Byelorussia) and from different areas of Russia.     12 July 2013 Russian Finn class mourns Aleksander Novikov Aleksander Novikov, one of the founders and most active members of Russian Finn Association, has died on July, 10 after a road accident in Ukraine. The Finn Association mourns the untimely passing of our friend and companion.
